World Heritage Greetings: #4 Ancient City of Nessebar, Bulgaria
“It is difficult to image that there were once more than 40 churches on the small peninsula. Walking through the narrow, winding streets of the old town, you will find abandoned ruins and begin to understand how much history this place carries within itself. The old buildings, countless cafes and the breeze of the Black Sea ensure a pleasant atmosphere. They are the reason for many tourists to visit the peninsula – in addition to the nearly 10,000 inhabitants. I experienced my own visit as a travel between times and cultures – this place connects the past with the present.”
