German-Iraqi Initiative against Destruction of Cultural Property by ISIS

At a meeting in New York on 21 April, representatives of Germany and Iraq have announced a joint initiative for a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly against destructions and lootings of cultural goods by the terrorist organisation ISIS.

After the disastrous destruction of Iraqi cultural property by the terrorist organisation ISIS at Nimrud, Hatra and Mosul, a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly shall condemn antiquity crime and ask for greater protection of cultural goods.
