Gardeners’ City Bamberg Featuring at Exhibition in Venice

Bamberg Gardeners’ City – part of the World Heritage site "Town of Bamberg" – presents itself from 5 May until 31 October 2015 in an exhibition on food sustainability organised by the UNESCO Office in Venice.

The exhibition is a contribution by UNESCO to the World EXPO in Milan, the theme of which is "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life". Parts of the exhibition can be visited in the Botanical Garden of Padua, in the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park and the Po Delta Regional Park. The exhibition includes movie screenings from Bamberg’s Market Gardeners’ and Winegrowers’ Museum.

Patricia Alberth, Head of the Centre of World Heritage Bamberg, welcomes this opportunity: “We were delighted to receive the invitation by UNESCO to present the horticultural heritage of Bamberg as a good practice example for food sustainability within the framework of EXPO 2015. The exhibition presents the skills and the knowledge of the Bamberg gardeners to an international audience.”
